Maureen Denise McCormick was born on 5 August 1956 at Woodland Hills California the youngest and only daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her family consisted of an aunt who worked as household worker and father who worked as a teacher. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three oldest brothers. McCormick always enjoyed performing, dancing and creating performances with puppets. When McCormick was six years young, she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency approached her to ask her if she would like to enter show business. McCormick's first job as a professional was during 1964, which was when she appeared in a television commercial featuring Mattels new doll Baby Pattaburp. In the following year, she appeared in the role of Chatty Cathy in a commercial before being cast in the show Wind It Up and It's Breaks by The La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was one of 1200 children who auditioned for the role of the oldest towheaded girl in The Brady Bunch. The sitcom featured Florence Henderson and Robert Reed, newlyweds who had an unmarried family. The show ran for five seasons. In her autobiography Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice which was published in 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the fifth season, she almost lost her virginity to her onscreen brother and co-star Barry Williams. He was just 19. She was 16. She told me that it could be possible, however we didn't have the proper moment to make the decision.
